Hackettstown Man Killed In Randolph Crash: Police

The crash happened during the Monday night rush hour.

RANDOLPH, NJ — A Hackettstown man was killed and two others were injured in a Monday evening crash in Randolph, police said.

The crash happened on Route 10 near Dover Chester Road Monday evening. One of the cars, driven by a 70-year-old Stanhope man, ran off the road and sunk into a retention basin. The other car flipped over on Route 10, police said.

When police arrived, the Stanhope man was out of the car safely, but both the driver, a 61-year-old Hackettstown man, and the passenger, a 66-year-old Hackettstown woman, were stuck inside the flipped over car. The woman was freed by members of the Randolph Fire Department. The man was dead before he could be freed, police said.

In addition to Randolph first responders, officials from Morris County Park Police, EMS, the Prosecutor's Office, Atlantic Ambulance and Saint Clare's Paramedic's all responded to the scene.

No names are being released pending notification of next-of-kin, police said.
