2 Injured After Car Veers Off Highway In Morris County

Police said the vehicle lost control, veering off the roadway to the right and ending up in a ditch late Thursday evening.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Two people were injured Thursday night when a vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a ditch on Interstate 80 in Morris County.

A vehicle traveling on I-80 East near milepost 27.6 in Roxbury Township lost control, swerved off the road to the right, and ended up in a ditch, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

As the first car veered off the roadway, a Freightliner tractor-trailer, attempting to avoid a collision, also lost control, striking the guardrail before overturning, Lebron said.

Both drivers were treated for non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

The crash is currently under investigation, and authorities have not released any additional information as of now.
