Heroin, Crack Found On Mendham Driver, Police Say
This is the township's fifth DUI arrest this month, officials said.
MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man faces drug charges after police found him with controlled substances in his car in Mendham Township.
On Friday, a Mendham police officer conducted a welfare check on a parked car on Mendham Road near Sunrise Lake.
The officer found that the driver, a 57-year-old man, was impaired due to “illicit narcotic use,” police said.

Police began a DUI investigation and searched the man’s car.
Authorities found heroin, crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in his car and placed the man under arrest.

He was issued several drug possession charges, and also charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
The 57-year-old was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility to await court proceedings.
Police said that this is the township’s fifth DUI arrest in December.
