2 New Officers Sworn To Serve Mendham Borough Police
New officers Timothy Plaskon and Zachary Poissant were officially sworn in during the March 24 Council meeting.
MENDHAM, NJ — Two new officers were recently sworn to serve on the Mendham Borough Police Department.
Officers Timothy Plaskon and Zachary Poissant were sworn in by Mayor Jim Kelly at the March 24 Council meeting.
The two officers were read their oaths while surrounded by family and friends, the borough police department said.

Both Plaskon and Poissant began their training at the Morris County Police Academy in January as Alternate Route recruits and are set to graduate in June. Upon completion, they will immediately start their Field Training Program to fill vacant positions created by recent retirements in the borough’s police department, officials said.

"We want to welcome both to our department and community! Good luck in the rest of your academy training and we can't wait for them to join our team," the department shared on social media.

The Mendham Borough Police Department is composed of approximately eleven full-time officers, two Special Law Enforcement Officers, and one full-time secretary. At least one officer is on duty at all times, working 11.25-hour shifts to patrol the borough’s 6.2 square miles.
The department responds to all emergency calls, including fire and first-aid incidents. Patrol cars are equipped with first-aid supplies, including defibrillators, and several officers are also certified EMTs.
