According to a website about the project:
- Mendham Township School District qualifies for 37 percent state funding for its planned projects, with the state funding up to 40 percent of eligible costs if a voter-approved referendum goes through.
- The district’s projects planned will maximize the state funding eligibility and reportedly reduce tax impact by $7.4 million.
- Those funds will be borrowed “through the sale of bonds” to fund renovations of both facilities and their grounds.
- Bond funding permits improvements to be made and then the costs, like a home equity loan, paid back over time.
