5 Movies Set In New Jersey To Watch New Year's Eve

NEW JERSEY - Face facts: no big parties are happening this year, so here are some movies that take place in the Garden State to ring in the New Year with.

Here are our suggestions in no particular order.

The Addams Family (2019)

• This animated film is based off of the works of Charles Addams, a Westfield native and shows members of the mysterious and spooky Addams family, Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester and Grandma, are readily preparing for a visit from their even creepier relatives.

A Beautiful Mind (2001)

• A human drama inspired by events in the life of John Forbes Nash Jr., and in part based on the biography "A Beautiful Mind" by Sylvia Nasar. A mathematical genius, he made an astonishing discovery early in his career and stood on the brink of international acclaim. The film details his decades-long battle with schizophrenia.

The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)

• Schoolteacher and single mother Samantha Caine lives an average suburban life -- until she discovers that she's a well-trained government assassin who went missing after suffering a bout of amnesia and that her former handlers want her back in their employ.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004)

• The movie follows two friends who get stoned watching television and find themselves utterly bewitched by a commercial for White Castle. Convinced there must be one nearby, the two set out on a late-night odyssey that takes them deep into New Jersey.

Friday the 13th (1980)

• Crystal Lake's history of murder doesn't deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the woodsy area. They find themselves stalked by a brutal killer. As they're slashed, shot and stabbed, the counselors struggle to stay alive against a merciless opponent. The movie was filmed in Blairstown, at No-Be-Bo-Sco Camp.
