55 Years Later, Brookside Engine Co.’s Clambake Keeps On ‘Shuckin’

The upcoming clambake will have an array of food options, as well as family-friendly activities and live music.

MENDHAM, NJ — One again, the annual Brookside Engine Company’s Clambake will return to Mendham.

Now in its 55th year, the clambake will be held at the Community Club Field, 1 East Main Street in Brookside. The rain or shine festivities will be held from noon to 5 p.m.

“Being a long-time staple in the Mendham Township community, we continue to offer traditional menu items like our raw bar, steamers, and chowder; while expanding our children’s games, corn hole, and drink selections that keeps bringing residents of our community and those surrounding us back year after year,” a Brookside Engine Company statement read.

Last year, a record-setting number of guests took part in the annual clambake. This year, the fire department looks forward to the event, where guests can “celebrate our community, reconnect with friends, listen to great music, and meet the firefighters who serve our area.”

Clambake ticket prices are as follows:

  • Adults (21+): $68
  • Junior (13-20): $40
  • Children (6-12): $30

The clambake’s annual raffle is returning as well. Tickets are $10 each, and a book of five can be bought for $50.

First prize is 30 percent of the proceeds, second prize is 15 percent, and third prize is five percent of the proceeds.

The rest of the proceeds will go towards equipment for the Brookside Engine Company, which is 100 percent made up of volunteers.
