All-Natural Food Market Cooking Up New Location In Chester

Dean's brings cult following to newest location, set to open this summer.

CHESTER, N.J. – The Streets of Chester is getting a new tenant, and one that has a cult following in New Jersey.

Dean’s Natural Food Market, with three other locations in the Garden State, is opening its doors with a full grocery store in Chester, the family-owned company announced on its website.

Dean Nelson opened the first market in Ocean Township in 1996 and another in Shrewsbury in 2004. The company then opened a third location in Basking Ridge in 2012 and will open its northernmost store this year in Chester.

“We are excited to share our mission of contributing to the betterment of our communities and our planet with the people in and around the area of Chester,” said Nelson in a statement. “We will allow our roots to grow deep into the community and serve our new friends with pride and respect. We will create new jobs and allow our teams to grow personally and professionally. We will honor all those who we serve.”

According to the announcement, the Chester location will offer a mix of natural and organic products with a non-GMO policy, including a 100-percent organic produce department. The location will also offer a juice and smoothie bar along with a fresh foods department that will have sandwiches, grab-n-go entrees, and a hot bar.

The location is expected to open its doors this summer.

Patch’s request for comment to Dean’s was not immediately returned.
