Animal Cruelty Charges In Chester For Woman Who Left Dog In Car
Chester Police say the dog's owner, who was shopping in Chester, returned to her car about an hour after they arrived.
CHESTER, NJ — An unidentified Peapack and Gladstone woman has an upcoming day in court for animal cruelty charges after Chester Police officers say they found her dog inside of her car in the Home Goods parking lot.
The Chester Police Department reported in a news release this past week that on July 15, the department received a call that the dog was inside the car and appeared distressed.
When responding officers found the vehicle, they said it was not locked and the keys were still inside. As Chester Police officers attempted to find the dog’s owner, they contacted Animal Control and gave the dog water.
