Army Vet, Chester Resident And Business Owner Dies At 77

CHESTER, N.J. – Arthur Zander was a working man who served his country in a time of need.
The longtime Chester resident died recently at the age of 77.
Born in Morristown in 1938, Zander served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960. He worked in the excavation business and owned A.J. Excavating. He was also a proud member of the National Rifle Association.

Zander is survived by his wife of 56 years, Connie; five children; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a large extended family.
A celebration of Arthur’s life will include graveside service with Military Honors on Wednesday, May 25 at 11:30 a.m. at First Congregational Church Cemetery in Chester.
