Celebrate Earth Day By Getting Free Trees In Mendham, Chester
Bare root tree seedlings, as tall as 2 feet, will be given away at multiple locations around Morris County.
As Earth Day and Arbor Day fast approaches, Morris County residents can pick up seedlings for five trees, courtesy of the state Department of Environmental Protection.
There are multiple locations in the county to pick up trees. In Chester, you can grab your seedlings from 9 a.m. to noon on May 1 in the Chester Library Parking lot, 250 West Main Street.
In Mendham Borough, residents can go from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28 at the Public Works Department, 37 Ironia Road. Mendham Township folks can go from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to the municipal/library lot at 2 Main Street on April 30.

The seedlings are bare root tree seedlings, which come in lengths of six inches to two feet tall, in a bundle of five.
You don't need to register unless your municipality asks you to, but you must wear a mask, the state says. (See more information here).
