In New York Times and Star-Ledger profiles about Froehner after his death on a special remembrance page, it was written that most didn’t know what this man who lived in Chester Township with his wife and four children and coached Little League, did for a living.
However, he served as a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police officer, having already answered the call of duty in 1993, responding to the World Trade Center after terrorists bombed it. With the Emergency Services Unit before the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, Froehner helped when a situation occurred with an elevator that hit the ceiling in one of the towers.
