Chester First Aid Squad Honored After 80 Years Of Service
State representatives honored the all-volunteer first aid squad for the milestone anniversary.
CHESTER, NJ — For 80 years, the Chester First Aid Squad has served its community. To celebrate the impressive milestone, the squad was honored by state representatives.
Assemblyman Michael Inganamort, a former Mayor of Chester Township, presented the squad with a Joint Legislative Resolution to honor the anniversary.
“Eighty years of volunteer service is an extraordinary achievement,” said Inganamort. “The men and women of the Chester First Aid Squad have selflessly devoted their time, skills, and compassion to ensure the safety and well-being of their neighbors, which I've experienced firsthand. I am proud to recognize their enduring commitment to our community.”

Since then, the all-volunteer first aid squad has been helping Chester residents and those from neighboring communities. In 2024, the squad logged more than 5,250 hours of service, equal to nearly 220 days, saving lives, caring for injuries, and providing comfort.
The squad has also been proactive in implementing new programs to improve response times, like the EMTs on Bikes program, which helps responders act quickly in areas subject to heavy traffic and large crowds.
“The Chester First Aid Squad represents the best of New Jersey’s tradition of volunteerism and small town pride,” Inganamort added. “On behalf of the Legislature, I thank each and every member—past and present—for their extraordinary contributions to Chester and beyond.”
