On Friday May 5th., the club will hold its Spring fundraiser, “A Gala Evening at the Show” at the Black River Playhouse in Chester. This is Opening Night of Chester Theater Group’s performance of Kate Hamill’s “Pride and Prejudice”, based on the famous Jane Austen novel.

Show time is 8:00 pm. The address of Black River Playhouse is 54 Grove Street (at the corner of Maple Avenue), Chester, NJ 07930.

The $25 ticket includes refreshments of cheese, crackers, fruit, wine, soda, and bottled water, served by Lioness members immediately following the show. There will be a ‘meet and greet’ with the play's cast members who will mingle with guests during refreshments.

Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from society. But can she resist love, especially when that vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aggravating Mr. Darcy keeps popping up at every turn?!

This performance will help benefit the Chester Lioness Lions charity projects.

For tickets, contact Pat Murray at (908) 366-4258 or Mary Weippert at (908) 876-3737
