Chester Man Ejected From Jeep As It Strikes Tree Dies
A 29-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, May 13 on I-287 northbound MP 62.8 in Mahwah.
CHESTER, NJ — A 29-year-old driver from Chester was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon on Interstate 287 in Mahwah, authorities said.
Vincent Infinito was driving a Jeep Wrangler and was traveling north on I-287 at 12:45 p.m. when his car veered off the road near milepost 62.8, New Jersey State Police said.
According to NJ State Police Sgt. Philip Curry, Infinito's Jeep Wrangler went off the right side of the road and down an embankment, where it struck a tree, rotated counter-clockwise and ejected him.

As a result of this crash, Infinito sustained fatal injuries, Curry said.
The northbound right lane was closed for approximately four hours, and the left lane was intermittently closed throughout the investigation, causing significant traffic congestion.

According to police, the crash is still being investigated.
