Chester-Mendham Food Pantry Extends Hours Amid SNAP Pause
The nonprofit, which has helped local families for nearly 25 years, has extended hours to help those enrolled in food aid programs.
CHESTER NJ — The Chester-Mendham Food Pantry has extended its hours as funding for food assistance programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), remains in limbo.
The Chester-Mendham Food Pantry will be open this Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m., in addition to its regular hours of operation, Wednesdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
The pantry, located at 100 North Road in Chester in the back of the Highland's Ridge Park property, is offering bags of groceries and Shoprite gift cards for those enrolled in the SNAP and Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) programs.

This Saturday’s program is exclusively for residents of Mendham Township and Borough, and Chester Township and Borough. Participants should bring proof that they’re residents and that they’re enrolled in SNAP or WIC.
This weekend’s additional program is the only one planned for the pantry as of now, but if food assistance funding continues to be paused, additional dates may be added.
