Chester Township Burglar Caught By Police, Officials Say

The suspect was burglarizing properties near Skinner Trail and Chestnut Drive, police said.

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A burglar was apprehended this weekend according to Chester Township police officers.

At around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Chester Police were called out to Skinner Trail and Chestnut Drive responding to reports of burglaries.

Chester police, along with assistance from Mendham Township. Police, Washington Township. Police, the Morris County Sheriffs Office Patrol & K-9 Unit, and Morris County Office of Emergency Management, apprehended the suspect, officials said.

The suspect, a man, was arrested, processed, and taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility awaiting court proceedings, according to officials.

Responding police departments, nor the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, have released the identity of the accused, his charges, or specific details of his arrest at this time.

“We commend the officers who were working and would like to especially thank the agencies who assisted with this coordinated apprehension,” a Chester Police Department statement read.
