The crosswalk at North Road, which has a speed limit of 25 mph, is described as having ‘high traffic.’
“With the high traffic volume and speed limits in the area, and the number of young athletes, families, and hikers using the crossing, this upgrade is very necessary,” said Mayor Tim Drag in a social media post. “Thanks to a partnership with Morris County, the improvements will be made at no cost to Chester Township taxpayers.”

The improvements entail adding flashing crosswalk signs that would be activated by pedestrians.
The township would be responsible for any maintenance or replacement of the signs, according to the resolution.
