Chester Kids Can Learn All Aspects Of Child Care Safety In A Class On Oct. 3
The Safe Sitter class teaches a range of skill sets to budding babysitters, who have minimally reached sixth grade.
CHESTER, NJ — Kids who would like to learn more about the best practices when keeping an eye on younger siblings or babysitting children in the neighborhood, can hone in on their skills during the Safe Sitter Class, coming up in Chester.
The class is scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chester Township Court/Meeting Room on 1 Parker Road.
Space is limited for the program, with it open to sixth graders and older; and to residents only through Sept. 19. If space is still available on Sept. 20, non-residents may register for an additional fee.

In the Safe Sitter Course, students will learn:
- Safety Skills, including how to handle situations if the power goes out or weather is inclement.
- Child Care Skills, such as diapering smaller children.
- First Aid and Rescue Skills, with CPR and choking rescue skills additionally taught, with responding to injuries and illnesses other components of this segment.
- Life and Business Skills, such as learning how to screen for child care jobs and discuss fees, among the topics.
The cost for the course is $120 per student, with that covering class materials, plus CPR certifications.
