Covid Concerns Cancels Mendham's Labor Day Parade
The Pastime Club will still hold events to honor the day, officials said.
MENDHAM, NJ - Mendham Borough may have made the decision to cancel their annual Labor Day Parade, and the Pastime Club has canceled their annual carnival, but officials said COVID-19 cannot stop all of their fun.
"With parade participants reduced to 50, as well as concern for our attendees to be able to socially distance we feel it’s best to hold off this year," officials said in a statement. "We will look forward to seeing you next year and will plan for the biggest and best parade ever marched down our Main Street."
And while the Pastime Club also felt the right thing to do is cancel their annual carnival, realizing that complying with NJ State requirements would be to risky a task to manage, the Borough Recreation Department and the Pastime Club have put some safe alternate fun in place.
