The 41-year-old driver was seriously injured, and officials say they found "numerous open alcohol containers" near his truck.
ROXBURY, NJ — Officials said a Belleville man was driving close to 90 miles per hour when he slammed into a 19-year-old driver in Roxbury, causing fatal injuries to the college student.
The collision along Howard Boulevard on May 31 killed Flanders native Jacob Davis, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. Gerald Veneziano, 41, has been charged with reckless vehicular homicide in the crash.
According to his LinkedIn page, Davis was studying pre-med and behavioral neuroscience at Northeastern University in Boston.

Authorities said Davis was southbound in a Mazda 3 at around 10:30 p.m. when Veneziano, who was northbound in a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, crashed into him. First responders pronounced Davis dead at the scene and had to extricate Veneziano from his vehicle, officials said.
Veneziano was transported to Morristown Medical Center with serious internal injuries.
