Election 2022: Who Is On The Ballot In Mendham, Chester

The filing deadline has passed and the Republican and Democratic hopefuls are looking to gain their party's nomination for the general election. And while this primary cycle looks quiet, there is still room for contests.

Seeking the Republican nomination for the Mendham Township Committee is Thomas Baio of North Gate Road and Tracey Moreen of Hardscrabble Road. Lauren Spirig of Devonshire Lane and Martin Slayne of Indian Hollow Road are looking for the nod from the Democrats. Barring complications, those four would face off in November for the two seats on the Township Committee.

Chester Borough

In Chester Borough, Mayor Janet Hoven is running uncontested for the Republican nomination. No Democrat filed by the deadline, so barring an Independent throwing their hat into the ring Hoven, of Fairmount Avenue, should earn another four years on the dais.

Similarly, Republican council members Russell Goodwin of Hillside Road and Karen Ferrone of Elm Street are looking for the nod and another term serving Chester.

Chester Township

There is going to be a new mayor in Chester Township come 2023. Current Mayor Marcia Asdal has not filed for another term, but sitting council member Michael Inganamort has chosen to run for the Republican nomination to succeed her.

No Democrats filed to run for the three-year term, so the path is clear for Inganamort.

Asdal has served since 2017.

The primary election is Tuesday, June 7.
