Electronic Waste Recycling On Wednesday, Saturday In Chester
In addition to televisions, computers and other electronic items, certain types of household e-waste can be dropped off.
CHESTER, NJ — Residents of both Chester Borough and Township can recycle their electronic waste on Wednesday, Sept. 1 and Saturday, Sept. 4.
The event on Wednesday is happening from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chester Township’s Department of Public Works building on 65 Furnace Road. Saturday’s electronics recycling times are from 8 a.m. to noon.
This twice monthly event, the first Wednesday and Saturday of each month, enables residents of both the borough and township to offload their electronic recycling items, which are not permitted to be tossed in the garbage.

Among electronic items accepted are: computers, keyboards, scanners, fax machines, DVD players, cell phones, stereos, televisions, VCRs and game consoles.
Electronic household items are additionally allowed for drop off, including: corded carpet sweepers, bread makers, microwave ovens, mixers, radios, toasters, landline phones, irons, clocks, hair dryers and vacuum cleaners minus the bags.

Residents of both the borough and township need to show proof of their residency when they bring their items.
As part of pandemic procedures, though there will be DPW employees onsite, drivers must remove items from their own cars and leave them on the ground.
