Engine Company Hosts 50th Annual Clambake In Mendham On Sept. 11

Brookside Engine Company's clambake is a family event that winds down the summer with food, music and fun.

MENDHAM, NJ — Tickets are on sale now for the 50th Annual Clambake to benefit Brookside Engine Company No. 1.

Starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 until 6 p.m. at the Brookside Community Club field, with a rain date the next day, this event has become an annual tradition since 1970 that gives the community a chance to connect before the end of summer.

The clambake boasts an “unlimited menu” that includes steamers, a raw bar, clam chowder, corn on the cob, fried chicken, hot dogs, sausages, burgers, veggie burgers, veggie chili, baked beans, cole slaw and more.

Kids under 6 are free, ages 6 to 12 are $15 each and adult advanced tickets for ages 13 and up are $40 in advance. Adult tickets will be $50 each at the gate. For $20 each, there are limited tickets sold online only for a commemorative cup to enjoy craft beer and hard seltzer at the event.

First responders and mutual aid companies should contact clambake@bec1.org for tickets.

There are 500 50/50 raffle tickets at $10 each being sold in advance online here, with proceeds to benefit the engine company and help them buy fire equipment. Winners don’t need to be present for the drawing.

There will also be a horseshoe tournament at $20 per team entrance fee, with registration here.

Brookside Engine Company No. 1 is additionally accepting online donations for those who can’t attend or who would like to donate separately and directly to the engine company. Click here to donate.
