First Fishing Frenzy Finds Its Way To Mendham Borough

The event is open to children under 16-years-old that are residents of Mendham Boro.

MENDHAM, NJ - The Mendham Borough Police Department is hosting their first Fishing Frenzy, which will be open to any children under 16-years-old that are residents of Mendham Borough.

The Fishing Frenzy will take place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on May 9 at the Mountain Valley Park on Mountain Avenue in Mendham Borough. The event will be held rain or shine. The pond will be stocked with rainbow trout, golden trout, and monster trout. There will be hot dogs, potato chips, soda, water, coffee, donuts, and ice cream.

Organizers said those with a fishing pole are being asked to bring it.

Rules for the Frenzy

  • The Fishing Frenzy is open to any child under 16-years-old. State law requires anyone between
  • the ages of 16-69 must have a fishing license.
  • Participants must sign in before fishing.
  • There is no fee
  • No lures or three prong hooks. If caught using a lure or a three-prong hook, you will be
  • asked to leave.
  • Each fishing person may keep up to six trout.
  • Every trout kept must be at least nine inches long.

Participants are asked to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
