Free Rabies Vaccine Clinic In Mendham For Dog, Cat Owners

In collaboration with Chester Township, Mendham Township will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic for local pet owners on Dec. 2.

MENDHAM, NJ — In collaboration with Chester Township, Mendham Township will hold a free rabies vaccination clinic for local pet owners on Dec. 2.

According to a municipal notice, the free clinic will be held in the lobby at the DPW Garage, which is located at 65 Furnace Road, in Chester, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

To attend the clinic, all dogs must be on a leash, and all cats must be in carriers.

According to Mendham Township officials, all dogs and cats must be registered by Jan. 31, 2023, and the rabies vaccination must be valid for 10 months out of the licensing year in order to license your dog or cat.

Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal. Domestic animals can transmit rabies to humans via infected animals' saliva, emphasizing the importance of keeping your pets' immunizations up to date.
