Grove Street Park Playground Reopens After Renovations

After completing phase one of the renovations, Grove Street Park is now open.

CHESTER, NJ — After some renovations to spruce up the playground’s current equipment, Grove Street Park is open, according to officials.

The playground had been closed since July 24 for phase one of a new makeover. In the upcoming weeks, a new swing structure will be installed as part of the park’s refurbishment.

Despite the new swings being added later on, the rest of the park will be open, with one exception. Officials say the new 5 to 12-year-old tower will remain closed until the mulch underneath the structure is brought up to a safe grade.

The Community Presbyterian Church of Chester and Pastor Chris Scrivens donated sand toys to be used with the park's new sandbox.

A future ribbing-cutting ceremony and playground dedication will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, the park is open for families to enjoy.
