Holiday Home Decorating Contest Returns To Mendham

Winners will be announced in January.

MENDHAM BOROUGH, NJ — Mendham is about to look a whole lot more festive this holiday season.

Mendham Borough’s Annual Holiday Home Decorating Contest is returning, so residents may want to dig up their string lights and animatronics from the attic sooner rather than later.

The borough is accepting applications for those who want to participate now until Dec. 19 at 5 p.m.

Judging will take place from Dec. 20 to Dec. 31, so be sure to have your decorations in full swing on those dates.

Participants can enter their owned or rented place of residence, whether single-family, duplex, or multifamily condo or apartment. All Mendham residents are invited to partake, bar paid Mendham employees.

Additionally, those who hire a business to decorate for them are ineligible to participate.

As a reminder, only exterior decorations will be judged. Additionally, judges are evaluating houses strictly by “curb appeal,” so they will not be wandering onto participants’ properties.

The application, which is free to submit, can be found online here and should be emailed to recreation@mendhamnj.org.

Participants’ decorated homes may even be featured on MendhamTV.

Winners will be announced at a Mendham Borough Council meeting in January, and photos of the winning homes will be posted on the borough’s website.
