Latest Nor'Easter Forecast For NJ
The seventh consecutive wet weekend of rain and wind is headed for the Garden State, meteorologists say.
NEW JERSEY - Garden State residents will have to think back to Labor Day for a dry weekend, and the pattern isn't breaking soon, as a nor'easter is forecast to bring more wet weather into the region Friday and Saturday.
Thursday should see plenty of sunshine, but National Weather Service forecasters say there could be some light rain Friday – with mild temperatures, and “somewhat humid conditions by late October standards.
“The storm will strengthen significantly as it travels northward on Saturday night and Sunday and may even curl northwestward over the interior of New England,” according to AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno. “The storm is likely to evolve into a potent nor’easter and produce a zone of heavy rain, strong winds and building seas.”

Depending on the timing of the storm, Saturday “could feature steadier rain but perhaps milder temperatures, or more showery weather but highs closer to 60,” National Weather Service forecasters said.
"Which areas get hit the hardest by the effects of rain and wind will depend on the track and strength of the storm, but there is the likelihood of a thorough soaking in parts of the northeast U.S. and Atlantic Canada this weekend," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Adam Douty said.

The National Weather Service added that gusty winds could be on tap Saturday night or Sunday. Scattered showers may linger into Sunday across northwest New Jersey, the National Weather Service said.
"The storm has the potential to lead to urban-style flooding, especially but not limited to where leaves have fallen and block storm drains," Douty said. "This new weekend storm with its wind and rain is likely to strip a lot of leaves off the trees where the canopy remains in the Northeast."
