Longtime Chester Resident, 70, Remembered For Accomplishments

Deborah M. Schuetz was a member of the Chester community for more than 45 years. Her life celebration will include a visitation on Sept. 19.

CHESTER, NJ — Deborah M. Schuetz, 70, of Chester, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2023, at Morristown Medical Center with her family by her side.

Deborah was born on Feb. 25, 1953, in Maryland to the late Richard and Lois (Holman) Mayo. She has lived in Chester for over 45 years. She earned associate and bachelor’s degrees in business administration and was the President of Sundance Construction Co. Inc. in Lincoln Park, NJ, for 26 years.

Deborah enjoyed going to the beach and reading while on vacation. She played soccer for many years and was an accomplished skier. Deborah’s heart was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved taking them on elaborate trips all over the United States and relished her time with family and friends during the holidays.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Karl R. Schuetz, three loving children, Lisa S. Burns, son-in-law Greg Burns, Matthew R. Schuetz, and Adam K. Schuetz, five cherished grandchildren, Felicia Burns, Skylar Sebastian, Giana Schuetz, Emma Schuetz, and Natalia Schuetz, sister, Karen Sayles, brother, Chris Mayo, sister-in-law, Judy Mayo and by many other loving family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, and by her brother, John Mayo.

Deborah’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Service will begin at 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately by Deb’s family.
