Longtime Employee Forged Checks, Stole $225K From Morris County Company: Cops

Pennsylvania woman allegedly put company checks in her personal bank account for several years, police report.

MT. OLIVE, N.J. – A longtime employee of a Morris County company allegedly wrote company checks to her private bank account over several years, amounting to some $225,000, police said.

On Feb. 4 Mt. Olive police responded to Haas Laser Technologies for the report of a theft, police said. When officers arrived the business owners told authorities they had discovered their longtime employee, Sandrine Laurent, 40, of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, had been signing company checks and depositing company money into a Capital One bank account, police said.

The theft had taken place over several years and totaled $225,000, police said.

Mt. Olive detectives took over the case and had Laurent come into police headquarters to be interviewed. At that time she was arrested and charged with theft of moveable property, theft by deception, and forgery. She was required to surrender her passport and released with a court hearing.
