Longtime Mendham Police Officer Retires After 23 Years In Community

MENDHAM, NJ —Mendham Township police have bid farewell to a retiring officer who has served the community for over two decades.

Fellow members of the police department saluted Officer Bryan Fisk as he signed off for the last time earlier this week, police officials announced on social media.

Fisk began his law enforcement career in 1997 with the Warren County Department of Corrections, later serving as a patrol officer with the Arlington County, Virginia, Police Department before joining Mendham Township in 2001.

"Thank you, Officer Fisk, for your service to the residents of Mendham Township and we wish you all the best in your retirement and your next chapter," the township police department said.

This is the most recent update for the Mendham Township Police Department, which currently consists of approximately 14 full-time officers. Last month, the department announced it was seeking new applicants to join the force.

The "proactive, community-oriented" department serves more than 6,000 residents over an area of 18 square miles, police said.

The starting annual salary (effective January 2025) is in the $50,000s, with an additional salary step in the same year.

Chief Ross Johnson is the department's commanding officer, having been sworn in in 2017 following the retirement of former Chief Steve Crawford.
