Mendham Borough Schools Given A+ Grade, Safest County School Rating, From Website
Niche rankings gave the school district and community itself, "A" level grades.
MENDHAM, NJ — The Mendham Borough Schools received an “A+” ranking and was chosen as Morris County’s safest school district, according to Niche.
It was given a “Niche Best Schools” award for 2022, for its scores additionally in safety, for its teachers, among best places to teach, nationally, in the New York City region, in New Jersey and in Morris County.
The website released its 2022 best schools and district rankings on Monday for schools across the nation, in public, private and school district categories.

In a news release from the company, Niche reports it is an online platform that "connects students and families with colleges and schools."
The Mendham Borough School District received an overall "Niche Grade" of A+, with grades compiled, calculated and analyzed from public sources, including reviews by students, parents and residents in each area.

Some metrics from its report card for Mendham Borough Schools included the following grades:
A+ - Academics
A+ - Teachers
A+ - Health and Safety
A - Clubs and Activities
A - Administration
A - Food
A- - Resources and Facilities
C - Diversity
As a school district, Mendham Borough has 491 students among its grades PK, K-8 population, with a 9 to 1 student to teacher ratio, Niche stated. Students in the district have demonstrated a 79 percent proficiency in math and 84 percent in reading, per their test scores from the state, reported on the website.
According to Niche, Mendham Borough School District is the safest school district in Morris County, with Mountain Lakes, Randolph, Madison and the School District of the Chathams, rounding out the top five.
In Morris County, the district was ranked sixth in terms of the best places to teach countywide, with Mountain Lakes the top, followed by Morris Hills Regional, West Morris Regional, Montville and Hanover Park.
It also took sixth place among Morris County school districts for the “best teachers” countywide, according to Niche rankings. The top school district countywide was West Morris Regional, followed by Mountain Lakes, then Kinnelon, then Hanover Park and Morris Hills Regional in the fifth spot.

For the New York City Area, Mendham Borough’s school district was:

West Morris Mendham High School ranked among New Jersey’s Top 50 public high schools at 39th statewide, was given a rating as the fourth best public high school in Morris County overall; and received an A+ ranking.

Mendham Borough was ranked earlier in 2021 among best places to live in the New York City suburb category, earning the seventh spot for “Best Places to Raise a Family in Morris County.”
According to Niche, the population of the borough tallies 4,917, with it receiving an overall “A” grade, its ratings including: A+ for Public Schools and Good For Families categories; A for Health and Fitness; A- in the Crime and Safety category; B+ for Jobs and Outdoor Activities; B for Housing; B- for Nightlife, Weather and Commute; C+ for Diversity; and C for Cost of Living.
