Mendham, Chester Could See 4 Inches Of Rain From Ida’s Effects
Mendham and Chester are bracing for Ida's impacts, alerting residents of the potential of flooding and power outages.
MENDHAM, NJ — Mendham and Chester are under a Flash Flood Watch through Thursday, with Ida's remnants moving through the area.
As Ida churns through Mendham and Chester, there could be heavy rains, thunderstorms and rainfall of four inches or more as potential impacts from the storm, before sunny skies are predicted to return on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Streams, creeks and poor drainage areas as well as "moderate to major flooding is possible along some main stem rivers and roads," the National Weather Service forecasts.

Mendham Township Police posted a weather update on Wednesday about Ida’s effects, noting that they are working with all of the township’s other emergency service providers, as well as the township and county’s Offices of Emergency Management.

Should Mendham Township residents and business owners need the fire department’s help with pumping floods from a building or home, they should contact a police dispatcher at 973-543-2581, then dial zero.
