Mendham Man, Local Employee Dies at 71

William Kennedy always had a wink and a smile for those he met.

The Mendham resident of 30 years died recently at the age of 71.

Born in the Bronx, Kennedy lived in Bernardsville before settling in Mendham 30 years ago.

Living locally, Kennedy worked for Smiles Restaurant, The Black Horse, the Village Flower Shop, and Sammy’s Ye Old Cider Mill for 18 years.

Kennedy was fun-loving and caring, always making others laugh. He was a Chicago Cubs fan and Frank Sinatra enthusiast.

He is survived by a son and daughter and many extended family members.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home on Hilltop Road in Mendham, followed by a funeral service at 4:30 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics of New Jersey, 3 Princess Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
