Mendham Officials: Trash Collecting Company, Legacy, Closes

Mendham residents ​can still reach out to them for final trash pickup, refunds or to make arrangements to keep their garbage cans.

MENDHAM, NJ — Mendham Borough officials announced Wednesday that Legacy Services Inc., the company that had been collecting residents' trash, recently sent an email notifying customers that their business has closed.

Mendham residents can still reach out to them via email at legacysrv@gmail.com for final trash pickup, refunds or make arrangements with them for a fee to keep their Legacy garbage can, officials said on the borough's website.

Officials said Legacy has also terminated its relationship with TrashBilling.com. For information on refunds with auto pay, residents are asked to call them directly at 802-560-3595.

Mendham Borough officials announced Monday that Legacy Services Inc. "erroneously" stated on their voice message system that Blue Diamond Disposal has been awarded garbage collection services for the Mendham Borough.

Officials, however, said the borough has not contracted for garbage collection services with Blue Diamond or with any other company.

"Legacy customers will need to find a new trash hauler to provide this service. The situation is unexpected and very unfortunate, but we can all work together to fix this problem and find a new solution," Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner said in a letter to residents.
