RV-Flipping Driver Charged With DWI In Mendham: Police
The accident with the motor home, which was also towing a car, shut down a Mendham road for four hours.

MENDHAM, NJ — A one-vehicle accident involving a tipped motorhome remains under investigation, according to Mendham Township’s Police Chief.
Chief Ross Johnson told Patch on Monday that the accident, which happened this past Thursday night, closed down Mendham Road West by the Ralston Curve for about four hours.
Johnson reported that a member of the Brookside Engine Company who witnessed the incident, assisted the Ralston Engine Company with getting the RV’s driver out safely, which required cutting the vehicle's windshield.

According to the account of the accident from Mendham Township’s Police Department in a social media post about it, the motorhome’s unidentified driver has been charged with DWI after he was traveling too quickly heading westbound into the curve, crossing both lanes before hitting a tree, the impact flipping the RV.
The photo of the accident shows that a trailer behind the motor home with a car on top of it, remained somewhat upright, even after the RV was on its side.

In addition to both the Ralston and Brookside Engine Companies responding, Johnson said Mendham Township’s First Aid Squad arrived to the scene, with one minor injury in the crash, that person taken to Morristown Medical Center.
Two dogs in the motorhome, Johnson added, were also unharmed, but temporarily housed in Randolph Animal Shelter after the accident.
Johnson said the road was closed for the four-hour duration while the RV was repositioned upright and towed away from the scene.
