Mendham Scouts Attain Eagle Ranking With Service Projects
High school sophomore, senior better the community.

MENDHAM, N.J. – Two Mendham teens ended 2015 on the highest note possible, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
Mendham High School sophomore James McGoldrick and Mendham High School senior Tim Schryver were honored Dec. 27 by the Court of Honor after completing their Eagle Scout service projects.
McGoldrick’s project took place at Chester Area Senior Housing, a low-cost complex for seniors, where he leveled and repaired a patio behind the complex, building two chairs designed specifically for seniors. He also built four raised garden beds to make gardening easier for residents.

McGoldrick and his team of volunteers worked a total of 128 man hours to complete the project after securing monetary donations from family, friends, and local businesses including Mendham Garden Center of Chester; Alstede Farms; Cedarwood Landscaping; ShopRite of Chester; Lowe’s; and Home Depot.
Schryver’s project consisted of creating and restoring of hiking trails in Meadowood Park in Mendham Township.

His project involved removing debris, cutting back overgrown vegetation, laying mulch and establishing trail markers. He and his team of volunteers put in 140 man hours to complete the project.
