Mendham Student Honored For Outstanding Violin Talent

A student from Mendham was one of several honored by the Mayo Performing Arts Center as a May Music Student Of The Month for being an outstanding violinist.

Daniela Santoro-Alanis, a freshman from Mendham High School, was honored on stage before the May 16 concert at Mayo PAC. All the students were nominated by their teachers and chosen by Mayo PAC's education department. At the end of the year, all honored students will be invited to perform in a recital.

Daniela is a freshman at Mendham High School. She sits second chair in the First Violin section and she is part of our Select String Ensemble. Daniela also performed in our Cabaret String Ensemble and in our Chicago Pit Orchestra. Daniela also made Junior HS Regions Orchestra. Her musicality, pitch, and rhythmic accuracy strengthens the first violin section. Daniela has demonstrated her leadership qualities by stepping in as section leader. She has a bubbly personality and is ready for a challenge.
