Mendham Swimmer Wins Gold At Paris Olympic Debut

Twenty-one-year-old Mendham Borough swimmer Jack Alexy won big during Saturday's team final.

MENDHAM, NJ — Jack Alexy, a Mendham Borough swimmer, brought home a gold medal for Team USA at the Paris Olympics.

The 21-year-old was part of the men’s 4x100 freestyle relay final that took first place last Saturday. He led the team - which consisted of Alexy, Caeleb Dressel, Chris Guiliano, and Hunter Armstrong - to victory at his Olympic debut and scored the USA their first gold medal at the Paris games.

This marks Alexy's first-ever Olympic medal.

"Coming here, first swim in the Olympics, it was truly special to be a part of," said Alexy in a post-final interview with NBC.

Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner took to Facebook to congratulate the athlete.

"On behalf of the Borough of Mendham, I would like to congratulate Mendham Borough resident Jack Alexy on winning a gold medal with Team USA in his Olympic debut!" said Glassner.

Alexy is a three-time swim champion in both Morris County and New Jersey state championships. After graduating from the Delbarton School in 2021, he began his collegiate swim career at the University of California, Berkeley.
