Mendham Township Police Hiring Full-Time Officer: See How To Apply
Police are seeking a full-time officer to join the department, which serves more than 6,000 residents in the township.
MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Mendham Township Police are seeking candidates to join the 15-officer department, with applications due in early August.
The "proactive, community-oriented" department serves more than 6,000 residents over an area of 18 square miles, police said in a social media post. Applicants must be citizens of the United States, and residents of New Jersey with a valid driver's license, at the time of appointment.
The starting annual salary (effective January 2025) is in the $50,000s, with an additional salary step in the same year.

At this time, Mendham Township Police are only accepting applications from officers who are fully certified by the New Jersey Police Training Commission, or those who are enrolled in a current Police Academy Basic Class to obtain full NJ PTC certification.
Candidates must be in good physical health and of good moral character, and be able to satisfy the requirements to be a member of the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System of New Jersey.

Applicants must also be the proper age and have a minimum of 60 college credits, or honorable military time.
