Mendham Township's Fall Brush Pickup Is Coming Up On Monday, Oct. 4
The semi-annual pickup through the Public Works Department helps township residents dispose of sticks, branches and brush.
MENDHAM, NJ — Mendham Township residents who would like to have fall brush cleared from their properties can leave it at the curb starting Monday, Oct. 4.
The pickup is coordinated by the township’s Public Works Department, with particular guidelines before residents should place brush at the side of their roadway.
The Public Works Department cannot pick up “excessive loads cleared from the property by private contractors,” but can pick up some items, according to a news release from the township.

In order to have yard debris removed by the Public Works Department, residents should have the brush - including sticks or branches - at the curb by 7 a.m. on Oct. 4, with the ends of the items to be picked up, facing the roadway.
There are specific guidelines the township has set for bundled materials, including:

- Bundles shouldn’t exceed six feet in length or a foot in diameter
- They shouldn’t be tied, but if they are, string can only be used
- Branches or logs within the bundles shouldn’t be greater than six inches in diameter and must measure between 18 inches and six feet long
- No metal objects of any kind should be mixed in with bundles
In addition to large amounts of landscaping debris from contractors, the township additionally cannot haul away tree stumps, firewood or logs more than six feet in length, during the brush pickup period.
