Mendham Twp Middle School Ranked 5th Best Middle School in NJ: U.S. News

MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — Mendham Township Middle School has once again been ranked in the top five middle schools in the state according to U.S. News.

The school, located at 16 Washington Valley Road in Brookside, instructs around 300 students between 5th and 8th grades.

For the second year in a row, U.S. News has ranked the middle school the fifth-best middle school in New Jersey, a two-step jump from seventh best in 2023.

According to the report, the middle school has excelled in both math and reading, putting the school’s performance “well above expectations.”

The report shows that 85 percent of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, with only 40 percent of students scoring at or above the proficient level in the state. This metric ranks Mendham Township Middle School at #4 for math proficiency.

In reading, 94 percent of Mendham Township Middle School students scored at or above the proficient level, with only 49 percent of students across the state meeting or exceeding that level. This metric ranks the middle school #9 in reading proficiency, according to the report.
