Mendham Twp. Police, Firefighters Find Missing Alzheimer's Patient After Hours-Long Search

Woman was found to be in good health after hospital check, police said.

Mendham Twp., N.J. – An hours-long search for an elderly Alzheimer’s patient ended happily in Mendham Township early Friday morning, police said.

Mendham Township police responded to Mt. Pleasant Road Thursday night for a report of a 78-year-old female Alzheimer’s patient who went missing from her home, police said.

A search was initiated and the woman was located by Brookside Engine Company volunteers in the woods. She was transported to Morristown Medical Center and checked out to be in good condition.

Mendham Township Police were assisted by the Morris County Sheriff’s K9 Unit, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, and Brookside and Ralston Fire Companies, along with the Mendham Township First Aid Squad.
