Mendham Woman Crashed Car, Found Walking In Road

Bloomingdale police say the 48-year-old drove off roadway and through a fence.

A 48-year-old Mendham woman was charged with DWI and failure to report an accident Wednesday after Bloomingdale police said she was found walking down the middle of Macopin Road not far from where she drove off the road, struck a guardrail, went through a fence and left her car in a small ravine near Star Lake Camp.

Dorrie Kennedy was seen walking in clothing not appropriate for the cold weather, according to Ptl. Dan Fletcher, around 4:15 a.m. Kennedy told officers she was waiting for a ride from a friend, Fletcher said, but not far from where she was, officers saw skid marks leading off the road.

Fletcher said Kennedy was driving when she left the roadway and ended up in the ravine. She also showed signs of intoxication, Fletcher said, and was arrested.
