Mendham's Brookside Parade Returns For 101st Year This July 4

This year, the 'Grandest Little Hometown Parade' will celebrate the 275th anniversary of the founding of Mendham Township.

MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — There's still time to be part of this year's Brookside July 4th Parade, as Mendham Township and communities across New Jersey prepare to celebrate Independence Day.

The Brookside Community Club's annual parade will be on Thursday, July 4 beginning at 9 a.m. This year's parade celebrates Mendham Township's 275th anniversary as a town, and longtime residents John and Debbie Mills will be the grand marshals.

Anyone interested in entering a float, decorating their bike, or marching with their dog may reach out to coordinators Evan Thomas at 201-738-7881, Diane Tolley at 973-219-6064, or Lynda Menton at 973-462-0655.

And, all are welcome to join the Mendham Township Library as they walk in the parade to represent the library. Register here if you are interested. Marchers meet at 8 a.m. near the intersection of Tingley and East Main Street.

Anyone wishing to make a tax-deductible donation to the parade may write a check to Brookside Fourth of July Parade and mail it to P.O. Box 168, Brookside, NJ 07926 or send it via Venmo @Brooksideparade.

The township's fireworks display is set for July 1, with entertainment beginning at 6:45 p.m. at Mosle Field.
