Mendham's Main Street Bridge Replaced, Reopened To Traffic
Striping, stone work to be done this week.

It took much less than the anticipated full month of closure, and now motorists can stop detouring around a heavily used bridge in Mendham.
The Main Street Bridge, built in 1925 and last rehabilitated in 1977, was completely replaced by Konkus Corp. for $716,862. The bridge carries nearly 3,000 vehicles daily and was a single span steel stringer structure with masonry substructures.
The new structure is a precast, three-sided frame with stone facing.

While traffic can now pass over the bridge, stone facing, roadway stripes and guide rail still need to be installed. A custom-made bridge railing will be delivered to the site within the next eight to 10 weeks.
The new bridge also includes a concrete sidewalk on the north side of structure.
