Power Outages Persist For Some Morris County JCP&L Customers Monday

Several hundred Morris County residents are without power as of 3:30 p.m. Monday, as outages have been popping up throughout the day.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Though New Jersey is getting a bit of a break from the heat wave on Monday, some Morris County residents have been dealing with power outages after Sunday night's storms.

Power has been knocked out for residents and businesses in various parts of the county at different times Monday, on what is still a relatively humid day with temperatures in the mid-70s.

About 1,367 Jersey City Power and Light (JCP&L) customers are without power as of 3:45 p.m. Monday, the utility company said. More than 400 of these outages are in the Mt. Olive and Roxbury Township areas, with about 260 in Morristown.

More than 1,000 customers were without power around 11 a.m. Monday morning near Chester and Mendham, and there are some outages persisting in the area as of the most recent update.

Water and ice are available to JCP&L customers at some North Jersey stores, but there are none currently listed in Morris County.
