Morris Co. Coach Charged With Sex Assault, Lewdness: Prosecutor
The 33-year-old man also faces an endangering the welfare of children charge for his alleged attack on an 11-year-old.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - A 33-year-old Pompton Plains soccer coach is facing charges for an alleged sexual assault on an 11-year-old girl on Aug. 9, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp.
Alejandro Almazan has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, crimes of the second degree; endangering the welfare of children, a crime of the third degree; and lewdness, a crime of the fourth degree.
According to authorities, the 11-year-old female victim had a private soccer lesson with Almazan, who is her coach through the Ramapo Youth Soccer Association. During the lesson, Almazan had the victim jog with him to a private area within Independence Field in Riverdale, police said. During this time, Almazan touched the child’s private area and pulled up his shorts and exposed his penis to her, police said.

Knapp thanked the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit and the Riverdale Police Department, whose efforts contributed to the investigation.
