Morris County's Alstede Farms opens 4th location
Alstede Fresh at Lindeken Farms will serve Jefferson Township families with fresh produce grown at Chester-based family farm.

A ribbon cutting ceremony on April 27 marked the official grand opening of Alstede Fresh at Lindeken Farms, Chester-based Alstede Farms’ fourth location, and Jefferson’s Township’s first locally sourced farm store. The farm store is open year-round at 54 State Route 15 North, and Berkshire Valley Road.

Alstede Fresh at Lindeken Farms is stocked with fresh, seasonal, locally grown fruits and vegetables produced just 20 minutes from Jefferson Township, at Alstede Farms, a 40-year-old family-owned and operated farm located in Morris County.
“We’re proud to share the wholesome goodness we grow with Jefferson Township families,” said Alstede Farms founder and first-generation farmer Kurt Alstede, who was joined by his wife, Special Projects Manager Mary E. Thompson-Alstede and daughter, Production Supervisor Rebekah Alstede.

“And with the opening of Alstede Fresh at Lindeken Farms, we’re continuing another family tradition, one started in 1943 by the Stanlick family,” Alstede said. For 73 years, the Stanlicks operated Lindeken Farm Market in the current retail space. During renovations, the Alstede family took care to retain the spirit of the building while incorporating the Alstede Farms brand.
In attendance at the ceremony were Jefferson Township Mayor Eric Wilsusen, Assemblywoman Aura Dunn, Jefferson Township Chamber of Commerce President Dr. Bret Hartman, Jefferson Township Councilmen Robert Birmingham and Josh Kalish, as well as Jefferson Township Police Chief Paul Castimore and Lieutenant Joseph Hale. Morris County Commissioner John Krickus presented Alstede Farms with a framed recognition certificate for opening a fourth location.
